About me
Hi, I’m Leyla
I am a recent architecture masters graduate from UAL.
I am an architectural designer, researcher, illustrator, spatial practitioner, and artist fresh from the MArch course at CSM. I employ a performance-based practice to explore labour ethics, care and maintenance art.
Prior to my masters in London, I studied BA architecture by the sea at Arts University Bournemouth, UK. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at AUB and learnt from not only my wonderful tutors, but also my friends. Shortly after I obtained my degree, I was hired by Orms Architects. This was an incredibly enriching experience, as it led to a vibrant variety of projects ranging from 15-story hotels in Central London, to rural and maternity health clinics in Malawi, Africa.
I then studied my masters degree at Central St Martins, UAL where I embarked on a diverse range of projects such as a London Fashion Week Catwalk show for CSM’s MA Fashion graduates, a forest classroom with Material Cultures in Dalby Forest, a prototypical project exploring labour ethics situated in King’s Cross, and more.
I was also lucky enough to be selected for some placements, one of which was in Berlin with Alex Schweder Studios and the other being at The Design Museum, where I had the wonderful opportunity of working with the Future Observatory team. I finished the masters program with multiple awards and I am now looking for a dynamic studio to work with and learn from.
I am interested in using the fabric of the city as an ally to form and perform our identities.

During a masters workshop at CSM we were asked to map our practices, these diagrams are illustrated below.
Methods of Production Diagram
This diagram maps my practice as a verb; understanding the various ways of practicing through modes of production and manufacturing, eventually forming an understanding of how these come together to form a method of practice.
Practice Production Diagram
These diagrams were illustrations created during a workshop with Dr Torange Khonsari exploring practice. This diagram illustrates my practice production; the kinds of outputs and the drivers behind them.
